22 Feb 2014 I have notice today than my HSI (KI 525 ) acts weird. It is slaved to the compass and it matches to the compass first but then after while it doesn't 

1 - 2 BENDIX/KING KCS-55A SLAVED HSI SYSTEM, removed working from my Aerostar May 2019 By AirOne Avionics, due to a new TXI panel installation, 525A overhauled in 2016 by Instrument Overhaul of San Diego less than 100 hours since overhaul, ( not included but also removed DAC 31 roll steering adapter, and KI 256 see in separate listing), was connected to my Garmin 430 LinAire Test Panels LTS-525/A TEST SET FOR THE KING KI-525 & KI-525A HSI. Controls. The panel operates from 115VAC 400Hz power and produces all the DC voltages required to power the KI-525/A. The panel provides tip jacks to access the supply voltages. Parts available from a 28V Mooney MSE: King KCS 55A, KI 525A HSI, KG 102A DG, KMT 112, KA 51B (asking $1000) King KAP 150 flight control system, with KC 191 computer, KS 177 pitch servo, KS 178 roll servo, KS 179 trim servo (asking $2350) King KMA 24 audio panel (asking $200) King KR 87 ADF/AM ra 066-03046-0007 - KI 525A HSI by MD Helicopters, Inc. for Airframe.

The KI-525 contained a Power flag instead of the standard Heading (HDG) flag as with the KI-525A. Therefore, pin P must be added to the existing KI-525 harness for the HDG flag in the KI-525A. If the HSI is being upgraded to the -07 version of the KI-525A, then there is another pin that must be jumpered.

The KI 525A is the panel indicator for the KCS 55A Compass System, an optional part of the KFC 225 Flight Control System. Internally lit, the KI 525A operates at 14 or 28 VDC. Models are available with 5 volt lighting. It comes with a choice of a gray or black face. The KI-525 contained a Power flag instead of the standard Heading (HDG) flag as with the KI-525A.
